Job Description Summary:

Assists with development, implementation and oversight of compliance and privacy program activities. Supports the execution of the Annual Compliance & Privacy Work Plan. Supports policy and procedure development, implementation and communication efforts. Leads investigations into compliance and privacy concerns, responds to inquiries from Option Care team members. Supports compliance and privacy projects and initiatives as assigned. Maintains files of reported matters. Actively promotes visibility and awareness of the compliance and privacy program, including prepare and conducting educational presentations to all levels of staff across Option Care. Assists with the coordination, implementation, and oversight of monitoring and audit programs pertaining to Company’s compliance and privacy program.

Job Description:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports policy and procedure development; assists with facilitation, implementation and communication plans for new and revised policies and procedures; Provides oversight of adherence to Option Care policies and procedures.

  • Leads investigations into privacy concerns reported to the department.

  • Supports the coordination, implementation, and oversight of audit and monitoring activities related to the compliance and privacy program.

  • Assists with completing projects and initiatives on the Annual Compliance Work Plan. Works cooperatively with stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure successful and effective project/initiative execution

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure that the processes and procedures in place are effective and efficient for achieving necessary compliance and pursuing business goals. Works closely with operational management to provide advice on the interpretation and implementation of compliance policies and to evaluate the compliance implications of planned business activities or process changes.

  • Monitors and interprets any changes in rules and regulations requiring updates in compliance policies and procedures. Ensures any updates are timely and communicated to stakeholders. Monitors to make sure changes and updates are made as necessary.

  • Prepares and presents compliance and privacy related education and training to staff throughout the organization.

  • Under direction, prepares responses to federal, state, and/or municipal regulators or law enforcement officials related to alleged noncompliant behavior, audits or other compliance related inquiries. Supports auditing and monitoring events to ensure compliance with privacy rules and requirements as well as other regulatory and legal requirements.

  • Identifies potential areas of compliance and privacy risk and ensures escalation to appropriate individuals or groups for corrective measure implementation and oversight. Monitors and maintains records of corrective measure completion.

  • Creates communications, internal messaging and launches initiatives to promote the compliance and privacy program; actively engages in activities and initiatives company-wide to proactively raise the visibility of the compliance and privacy program; proactively seeks out stakeholders to forge cross-functional partnerships and collaborative relationships.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

BASIC EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of progressive, direct experience in a healthcare compliance and privacy program, OR

  • High School Diploma and at least 4 years of progressive, direct experience in a healthcare compliance and privacy program.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

  • Experience evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, laws, and regulations.

  • Experience collaborating with both internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.

  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).

  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).

  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Business-related field.

  • At least 2 years of experience applying knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care reimbursement guidelines.

  • Certification in Compliance as recognized by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics and /or Health Care Compliance Association or other professional organization.

  • Preference for at least 2 years of direct experience in home infusion services compliance program.

Due to some state pay transparency laws, below is the minimum pay for the position:

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
