Job Description Summary:

The Senior Compensation Analyst is responsible for analyzing and administering compensation policies, practices, and projects in alignment with the compensation and human resource strategy, and applicable laws.

The Senior Compensation Analyst will partner with Human Resource Business Partners and business leaders providing consultation and analyses on compensation matters.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

  • Administer new and/or on-going broad-based compensation programs & projects including conducting market research, performing analyses, documenting requirements/framework, data audits & clean-up, system testing, communication & training, and providing customer support.

  • Provide senior level support & administration of on-going cyclical compensation processes/initiatives including the merit & bonus cycle, total rewards statement, and annual salary structure analysis & review.

  • Analyze and administer special pay practices & policies such as on-call/callback pay, shift differential pay, and other special pay practices.

  • Manage the market pricing process including researching survey sources, completing survey submissions, analyzing, and interpreting data, reviewing trends, and recommending actions.

  • Provides analytical support in the development of merit budgets, bonus budgets, salary structure analyses, incentive plan data gathering & reporting, market data reviews, mergers & acquisitions, etc.

  • Accesses, changes, maintains, and assures the quality and accuracy of compensation data (job profiles, job descriptions, shift differentials, etc.) in HR databases through reporting, data audits, and accurate data entry.

  • Assists with the development of compensation communications in conjunction with assigned processes and programs.

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and develops new processes.

  • Provides counsel to HRBP’s and business leaders on routine compensation issues, as required.

  • Collaborates with other Human Resources functions to ensure that customer service deliverables are achieved.

  • Performs other duties as required or requested.

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or psychology related field, and at least 3-5 years of compensation analyst/consultant experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of confidentiality requirements associated with the practice of Human Resources.

  • Knowledge of various job evaluation techniques, salary survey practices and methodologies, salary structure and incentive plan analysis, and job documentation.

  • Knowledge of compensation market-pricing tools, job description maintenance, and HRIS systems.

  • Knowledge of compensation administration policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Ability to lead and co-lead multiple projects at a time, and produce quality work.

  • Knowledge of Federal, state, and municipal privacy laws and the applicability to the day-to-day operation of the compensation area.

  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Office 2003 or later: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards. for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Travel Requirements

  • Very minimal, or none - but willing to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications & Interests

  • Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration preferred.

  • Certified Compensation Professional designation preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Proficient in Workday HCM ( job profile creation/editing, reporting, job maintenance )

  • Effectively manages competing deadlines and demands, and effectively manages internal/external relationships and partnerships.

Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Pay Range is $87,111.20-$145,207.39
